This is a rather interesting development. While Avengers: Endgame is currently destroying Box Office records left and right, it seems Marvel Studios has already set their eyes on the next target. Avengers: Infinity War sadly missed its chance on winning an Oscar but Black Panther was able to bring the gold home. Russo Bros. still has another chance thanks to their latest release even topping the insanity that was Infinity War. According to Erik Davis, a special screening of Endgame was held for Academy members this week.

As Davis points out, this may be Marvel Studios already starting a long campaign to get the film nominated at the Oscars. There is a good chance for it to get the classic Special Effects nomination but a film with such an impact it would be interesting if it manages to snag a Best Picture nomination. A film of this proportion has won at the Academy before. In 2004, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King pretty much dominated most of the categories it was in and re-evaluated the understanding of what makes a Best Picture winner. There is still a lot of time until the next Oscar season but it will certainly be one to keep an eye out for.

What do you think? Could Avengers: Endgame win at the Oscars?
