Is anyone surprised by this article? Avengers: Endgame has become one of the most hyped films ever produced in a long time and after already making waves internationally, it finally released in the States. Many eyes were glued to when the numbers would come out for how much it made on Thursday and the wait is finally over. Endgame has officially beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens Thursday record with $60 million. The MCU films have always been strong players over the entire weekend as while Infinity War didn’t earn as much as The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi when it released on Thursday, it still managed to get the largest opening weekend. It doesn’t only pull in the fans but also the general audience that all want to witness the end to the Infinity Saga.

The film could go anywhere between both Star Wars film’s to go up to $292 million or, like another sequel story, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II up to $248 million. There is a good chance this film will be very leggy and potentially surpass the $300 million barriers but the numbers for tonight will confirm where the film is truly heading once it ends its cinematic run.

Globally, the film now stands at $305 million in just two days. There is a good chance that the film will reach the $1 billion opening weekend worldwide. This total also does not yet include the China Friday, which is pointing to $61.9 million which puts it at a three day total of $216.4 million. It will certainly surpass $300 million by the end of the weekend. As such, we might see an international cum of $700 million, so the domestic market will make or break its chances of passing the $1 billion opening weekend. At this rate, Endgame seems unstoppable.

Did you already see the film and got a second ticket for the weekend?
