Rejoice, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who clamor for more Avengers: Infinity War content for the special features of the Blu-Ray edition has finally been revealed. According to Slashfilm, the Blu-Ray edition of Infinity War will feature around 10 minutes worth of deleted scenes, 30 minutes of featurettes, a 2-minute gag-reel, and full commentary by the Russos and screenwriters Markus and McFeeley. The deleted scenes are:
Happy Knows Best (1:23) – Tony and Pepper spar over the details of their upcoming wedding—until a hassled Happy Hogan pulls up with an urgent request.
Hunt for the Mind Stone (1:24) – On a darkened street, Wanda Maximoff and the wounded Vision attempt to hide from Thanos’ brutal allies.
The Guardians Get Their Groove Back (3:20) – As Peter Quill and Drax quarrel over their failed mission to Knowhere, Mantis interrupts with news.
A Father’s Choice (4:00) – Thanos confronts Gamora with a vision from her past—and with lying to him about the Soul Stone.
For me, the most exciting deleted scene here is the Thanos one because A) I’m dying to see more Thanos onscreen and B) it should give us more insight into his tragic relationship with his favored daughter and – possibly – how Gamora came across the Soul Stone. I’m also looking forward to the one featuring Wanda and Vision in Edinburgh because their skirmish with Proxima and Corvus is one of my favorites in the film. Overall, these picks are pretty interesting. As the Russos have stated numerous times, they shot a crapton for Avengers: Infinity War and so much of that barely made it to the final draft. I’m curious as to why they picked these 4 scenes to release publicly.
The Blu-Ray is set to come out on August 14.
