Avengers: Infinity War has been underway for some time, but the longer the production has been going on, the more information we get that teases the film’s potential. More and more actors are arriving on set for their part in the filming. Until we get official confirmations from Marvel Studios, these reports and behind-the-scenes images offer but a small glimpse of a larger picture that hopefully will start to unfold as the release date nears.

A large part of the production took place in Durham, which has officially come to an end.  Wrapping that set was confirmed in a brief press event featuring the directors of the film, The Russo Brothers. Not much was revealed about the production that took place at the Durham Cathedral, or what actors partook at this shoot, but they did highlight the importance of the set-piece.  Thew also threw Mjolnir out to fans who tried to catch a glimpse at what secrets the cathedral was hiding.

“It is stunning. It is one of the great cathedrals of Europe. It’s beautiful. Avengers: Infinity War is a movie of incredible scale and scope. And we need locations like Durham Cathedral to satisfy that level of scale.”

The interview did reveal that Chris Hemsworth has stopped at the Ramside Hall Hotel to sign autographs. Chronicle Live reported that the two actors who started the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson, have been sighted on set during these shoots. A Guardians of the Galaxy actor has also been sighted: Sean Gunn, who not only plays Kraglin.  He also is the stand-in for everyone’s favorite raccoon, Rocket.  A stand in stuffed version was also seen as well.  The presence of Rocket suggests this cathedral may have also have been visited by Gamora, Quill, Mantis or the other Guardians at some point.

What follows is a big of speculation building on spoilers from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. So, fair warning to anyone who has yet to see the film, be wary when reading the following paragraph!

At the end of Guardians 2, Kraglin took over the legacy of Yondu, who sacrificed himself to save his adoptive son Quill. In a short moment, we see him call Quill “Captain” after receiving Yondu’s famous arrow, which leads to a short post-credit stinger where he starts learning how to use it with his former captain’s fin attached to his head. It would make sense that he is a new member of the Guardians after the events of the sequel, and with a four-year gap between when events happened and Infinity War, one could assume that Kraglin learned how to use his new weapon. As such reprising his role as Kraglin as well makes sense.

What are your thoughts on the matter?  What character are you most excited to see back?  What interaction do you most want to see between the Guardians and Avengers?
