Guardians of the Galaxy was perhaps Marvel Studios biggest surprise hit since Iron Man. The success of the film was in no small part because of its amazing core cast, along with the supporting roles played by Glenn Close (Nova Prime) and Benicio del Toro (The Collector). When del Toro has been asked if he was returning for the much-anticipated sequel, he was mostly doubtful, but he indicated that he wanted to further explore the role.

‘I would like to keep working on that character, though. It was kind of like a cameo. I would like to keep developing the character based on what’s written in the comic books.’

And while the film wrapped production in Atlanta rather recently, it appears they’re still adding a few bits. As reported by the Daily Mail, del Toro was seen on the Los Angeles set sporting the Collector’s trademark white hair and eyebrows.

What role will he have in the upcoming film? Most likely a small one, if it’s for the film at all. It could just be another end credit scene cameo. The director, James Gunn, has flat-out said multiple times that there will be no infinity stones in the picture, but perhaps there will be an end credit scene with The Collector to continue to move that plotline along for Avengers: Infinity War. What do you think The Collector’s role will be? Let us know in the comments below.
