According to an anonymous source at FandomWire, multiple rumors for Black Panther 2 have been revealed. According to the source, Namor is set to make his MCU debut in the Black Panther sequel. This source says that before Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away in 2020, Black Panther 2’s production team was preparing rigs and costumes for underwater scenes. Namor the Sub-Mariner is the King of Atlantis in the Marvel universe, and the rumor of sea divers from Wakanda will supposedly spark a war between the Wakandan and Atlantean societies.

FandomWire also published another rumor about Dr. Doom being the cause of this war. According to their source, the Fantastic Four antagonist will appear in a small role in the Black Panther sequel as the “overall bad guy pulling the strings.” This fits in with previously reported rumors of Doom appearing as the villain in Black Panther 2.

Finally, the last rumor reported by FandomWire is that Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger is set to return to the MCU.  After being killed in their final confrontation at the end of the first movie, it is unknown as to how Killmonger will return. The rumor does not state if he is returning as a current character, or if his appearance will be a multiverse event similar to Andrew Garfield’s and Toby Maguire’s Spider-Man appearances in Spider-Man: Homecoming 3, or if this appearance will be limited to flashbacks. FandomWire seems to think that he will be resurrected in some way, or that he “didn’t fully die” (even though we saw him take his final breath and fall limp in T’Challa’s arms).

After Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing from colon cancer in mid-2020, the production and scripts of Black Panther 2 had to be changed. Subsequently, it is unknown how substantiated these rumors are, so they must be taken with a grain of salt. Kevin Feige is known to emulate the comics without copying directly from them. Doom and Namor are both continuous antagonists of Black Panther, with Wakanda going to war with Doom’s country of Latveria, as well as Namor’s Atlantean society. Killmonger has also come back from the dead multiple times in the comics. Therefore, it is not out of the realm of possibility for all of these things to occur, but it’s also hard to believe all of this happening in Black Panther 2. Somehow, Marvel would have to have all of this occur, as well as have someone take up the Black Panther mantel (most likely Shuri). Whatever happens, it is certainly going to be interesting to see how Marvel handles all of these characters in the future of the MCU.
