All of us are in a state of shock at the moment upon hearing the terrible news that hits right in the heart for MCU fans. It comes with a heavy heart to report that Marvel Cinematic Universe Star Chadwick Boseman has passed away from colon cancer at the age of 42. Over a nearly 20-year career, Boseman quickly rose to become one of the brightest stars in the industry, especially over the last decade. He had famously taken on multiple roles portraying real-life icons like Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get on Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall.

Boseman is beloved amongst Marvel fans after taking on the role of T’Challa/Black Panther, signing onto the role and taking part in the official Phase 3 slate announcement in 2014. He played the Wakandan hero in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, establishing himself as a staple in the MCU’s future. He was already set to make his next appearance in 2022’s Black Panther 2 before his untimely passing.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Boseman family, his costars, and the entire Marvel family, mourning deeply over this unexpected and tragic loss. Rest In Peace, Chadwick Boseman, and Wakanda Forever from all of us at MCUExchange.
