We all knew it was inevitable once the social media and review embargoes for Black Panther were lifted. The film, which is currently setting an unprecedented cultural landmark in blockbuster filmmaking, has been officially Certified Fresh by infamous critique aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with a 99% rating (79 fresh reviews out of 80).
Were it not for one rotten review that didn’t like the film because it was too deep and lacked action, the film would be at a perfect 100% with 80 reviews. Still, 99% is a pretty outstanding level to be in. Now obviously, given that the film has yet to be reviewed in an all-out international scale, that percentage will inevitably go down in the coming weeks. Regardless, it looks like this film is already on its way to being Marvel Studios most acclaimed property. Maybe an Oscar down the road ain’t so crazy anymore.
