Black Widow is getting its team together before shooting starts. Marvel Studios hired cinematographer Rob Hardy, who is well-known for his work on last year’s action-packed hit Mission Impossible: Fallout. Cate Shortland, known for her WW2 drama Lore, will be taking over directing duties of Scarlet Johansson‘s first solo outing. They now have added costume designer Jany Temime to the production cast, who has worked on a variety of films. Some of her most well-known projects are the two latest James Bond films Skyfall and Spectre. It sounds like the perfect choice for a spy-action film like Black Widow.

There are also rumors that Red Sparrow‘s production designer Maria Djurkovic may be joining the production but Geeks WorldWide do point out that it is still unconfirmed. Marvel Studios is building up quite an experienced production team. The common thread throughout the production team members is their experience in spy-themed films. Kevin Feige seems to be gathering quite a team to bring this film to life and ensure we get the best spy film possible. Black Widow would be Marvel Studios best opportunity to include more practical action sequences, as a common criticism has been the overabundance in CGI in their films. They could use this opportunity to bring viewers Mission Impossible: Fallout-level action sequences. It would also make a great counterbalance to the probably CGI-heavy The Eternals. Whatever they have planned, it will certainly be interesting especially in a post-Endgame world. We still do not know if this will take place after or before those events. Here’s hoping we get an official logo and summary on the film in the coming months.
What do you think of this addition? Are you excited for Black Widow?
