Filming for Marvel’s Black Widow movie has been underway for a few weeks now, and after a number of not-so-clear set photos emerged last month, we now have a much better look at Scarlett Johansson on the set. The photos show Natasha Romanoff in a woodland setting, sporting the same Endgame-esque haircut as the previous photos. We’re still unsure when exactly the film is taking place, nor what the film is even about, and unfortunately these photos do little to change that. Still, its good to see production is underway and progressing, and we’re bound to learn more as filming continues.

In another piece of interesting news, a new report from the Independent claims that Florence Pugh will be playing Yelena Belova in the film, who the site claims “will be introduced as the new version of Scarlett Johansson’s character”. Even more interesting is this information supposedly comes from the notorious Roger Wardell, a Twitter user who very accurately leaked a number of Avengers: Endgame details months before the film released. This news isn’t exactly unexpected, as many fans had already been speculating that Pugh would play Belova since her casting was first announced back in March, and it would also line up with previous reports that Pugh‘s character will be “a spy on the same level as Romanoff, likely her moral opposite.”
With any luck we should hopefully catch a glimpse of Pugh as the next Black Widow on set soon, but until then we can expect more details about the film to be revealed over the coming months and at SDCC.
