For years fans have been buzzing around the idea of an adaptation of Greg Pak‘s Planet Hulk arc. Rumors of it swirled years ago and when Hulk took off in a Quinjet at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, it seemed possible that he might end up in space after all. Finally it was revealed that Hulk would star alongside Thor in Thor: Ragnarok and that the film would adapt parts of Planet Hulk and fans were well-pleased, but one question remained: how did Hulk get to Sakaar ? There’s an answer for that question:

Somehow, Hulk’s quinjet that he took off in at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron ended up in a wormhole that took him straight to Sakaar, and the rest is history. Keen-eyed fans will spot Thor and Bruce Banner inside the quinjet during their discussion about who won the gladiator match in the most recent trailer.

If you recall the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, the sky over Sakaar is filled with wormholes (the planet is referred to as the “toilet” of the universe) which are responsible for populating the planet with its gladiatorial fodder. Just as we see Thor arrive on Sakaar, Hulk popped out of a wormhole too and into gladiator game glory. A convenient plot device for sure, but one not many people are likely to complain about given the initial responses to the scenes between Thor and Hulk. Regardless of how he got there, Thor is going to be very happy he did!

Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters November 3, 2017!
