The first wave of Avengers: Infinity War set reports are here. Several lucky outlets of the press were flown out to the Russo’s set in Atlanta sometime last year to witness the greatness being filmed. In it, several details about the film were divulged, some we’ve known, some not. One of the information we weren’t necessarily privy to but we sort of expected was the inevitable reunion of Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff. Speaking to Slashfilm, Mark Ruffalo had this to say when asked about a potential retread of their romance in the film.
In this film? They’re star-crossed lovers, so it’ll be something they’re dealing with for the rest of their living days, I think. Whether it’s requited or unrequited, I don’t imagine that’s gonna go away anytime soon in one iteration or another.
Last seen together in the Battle of Sokovia, the brief romance between Bruce and Natasha – or as it is known to shippers, Brutasha – has been nothing but tumultuous. Coming off of a bonkers intergalactic journey fighting gods and aliens, Ruffalo’s description of the two as star-crossed lovers feels very apt. The Avengers: Infinity War trailer seemingly puts the two lovers face to face with one another so we imagine that will be one of the many moments the two talk their issues out as they battle a horde of aliens.
