As we near closer and closer to the release of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel looks to have another hit on their hands. The reviews are glowing, new TV spots have been steadily released featuring new bits of footage, and it was recently revealed you can get exclusive posters and tickets at select theaters once the film opens. It is clear to see that Marvel is giving everyone plenty of reasons to see the film in theaters, and possibly multiple times. This may get annoying at times, but it looks like it is going to pay off big for them.

The film will be released in 61 countries overseas this weekend and Deadline is reporting that it is expected to have a $200-230M opening weekend. The low is reportedly $180M with the highest estimate putting the film at $250M. Meanwhile, when it is released domestically in the US next week, it will continue to dominate. Deadline is also reporting a $190M+ opening weekend here as well.

Should the movie do these types of numbers, by the time its opening weekend run comes to a close, it could have already surpassed fellow MCU films Iron Man, Ant-Man, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and The Incredible Hulk in terms of world wide box office. These projections show a $15M increase from the previous numbers that came out last week.

I think the film will do $200M+ opening weekend domestically and pass The Avengers ($1.5B) when it is all said and done. Let us know how you expect it to do at the box office and how many times you’ll be seeing it in the comments below!

Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to hit theaters May 6, 2016.
