We’ve known for a while now that Captain Marvel would take place somewhere in the 1990’s. That was, in fact, one of the first big things we officially knew about the film, second only to the fact that Oscar winner Brie Larson would be the star of it.
Now, over a year after we learned the decade we would see Carol Danvers do her thing, Disney has officially announced via its Japanese website that the movie will take place precisely in 1995. It doesn’t change much, since, given the visuals of Nick Fury and Agent Coulson in the trailer, most fans did speculate that the flick would take place mid-90’s rather than early or late in that decade.
This means that the Skrull invasion will be set exactly 17 years before The Avengers, 13 years before Tony Stark announced he was Iron Man and started this new age of heroes, and 4 years after the death of the Starks. What do you think that means for the MCU and its characters? Let us know in the comments!
