We’re almost exactly two years out from Captain Marvel hitting theaters, so naturally there’s a lot about that project we don’t know. We still don’t know the story, the director, or any of the cast beyond Brie Larson. However, that could begin to change soon. According to My Entertainment World via SMTV Reports, Marvel Studios plans to begin shooting Captain Marvel in January of 2018.

That may sound like a long way out, but remember that Marvel still has a lot to do before cameras start rolling on Captain Marvel. We should expect to hear news about a director and supporting cast in the coming months, perhaps at D23 or San Diego Comic Con this July. It’s also important to note that the listing on My Entertainment World does include a synopsis for the film, but that synopsis isn’t official and likely has very little to do with the story of the movie.

Captain Marvel hits theaters March 8, 2019.
