Marvel Studios is slowly gearing up towards starting production on next year’s Captain Marvel film and many are starting to question when we will get to see her interact with the other heroes. Given that her film starts in the 90s, her interactions with the other heroes could become quite interesting, especially if she would play off of 80s kid, Star-Lord. With Avengers: Infinity War and its still unnamed sequel bringing everyone together, many fans are starting to think about their potential favorite crossovers, and it seems Brie Larson, who will play the titular character, actually has some thoughts of her own on that topic. In an interview with USA Today, she revealed who her top pick is for an interesting hero showdown in a later film.
I do kind of have fantasies of battling The Hulk, just because that’s like, it’s just visually so good.
Seeing Hulk and Captain Marvel duke it out would be incredibly badass, especially as we have yet to see the limits of Hulk’s abilities within the MCU. Seeing her use her power set on the green goliath could make for some really eye-popping sequences, considering that Kevin Feige once stated that she might be the most powerful hero that earth ever has seen. Such a character trait could potentially be a heavy burden in-universe, let alone as a performer but Larson had smart things to say about it.
The Captain Marvel thing was something I really spent a lot of time thinking about. And eventually, I came to the conclusion that being part of a giant feminist film that can be a symbol for people, that was one I wished I would have had, just outweighs some of the small annoyances (of fame). Like, they’re really small in comparison to the good that it can do.
It seems like the actress is really looking forward to playing the character and like DC’s Wonder Woman, she could leave behind quite an impression on female viewers. There is a lot of potential with her character, the confirmed setting and the mythology surrounding her ties towards earth and the cosmic part of this universe. Hopefully, we will get a look at her in full costume sometime in the near future, as production starts on the ambitious film.
What are your thoughts? Do you want to see her and Hulk fight? What character do you think should take on Captain Marvel?
