San Diego Comic-Con 2010 was a monumental event for the MCU as it was the first time the cast of Avengers united in front of an audience. It was also the same day they revealed that Mark Ruffalo was going to be the new Bruce Banner. At the time, it wasn’t the biggest deal ever but looking back at how far we’ve come, that cast photo is definitely one for the books. Fast forward to 2017, where a similar moment is sort of happening. Not as big or impressive as the Avengers photo op but a noteworthy gathering (sort of): Emmy Magazine just released a series of images featuring, for the first time ever, the cast of The Defenders and some of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a single photo.

Alright, elephant in the room: that cast photo of all them looks crazy photoshopped. Like the only people who were together in the same room for the shoot were Chloe Bennet and Jeph Loeb. But does it matter that they probably weren’t together for the shoot? Not really. It is still undeniably cool seeing the two shows collide for an image. A nice reminder that even though a crossover isn’t happening anytime soon, the two squads of heroes still inhabit the same television landscape of the MCU. I’m still holding out on an actual MCU TV cast photo down the line though. Remember how crazy cool it was seeing this photo?

What do you think of the cast photo? Sad that Fitzsimmons, May or Turk Barrett are nowhere to be found? Let us know in the comments below!
