The cast and crew of Avengers: Infinity War have been shooting for the last four months or so, starting production near my hometown in Atlanta, Georgia. They briefly wrapped production there sometime in early March or so, moving on to film in Scotland for several months. [Production for the film recently wrapped on that side of the pond earlier this week, as the cast and crew recently finished filming in Durham Cathedral in England], on what will be one of the larger action pieces in the film from what we can gather. With a film of this size and scale, it makes sense to see so many company moves between locations, but now, due to some casting calls, it appears that the production is returning to Atlanta within the next few weeks. The casting calls are seeking extras and stand ins for what appears to be a couple of scenes set in Wakanda. You can check out the specifics of the casting calls from the AJC and Project Casting, respectively, below:
The following stand-ins are needed, and experience as a stand in is preferred: Woman #1: A female who looks African-American and is in her 20s-40s with a dark complexion. Your height should be 5’6”-5’8”, and your dress size should be 0-4. You should be bald or have very short black hair. Man #1: A man who appears to be African-American and is in his 20s-40s. You should be 5’11”-6’1” and have a chest size of 40-42. Man #2: A man who appears to be African-American and is in his 20s-40s. You should be 5’7”-5’9” and have a chest size of 38-40.
Lab Techs: Looking for men and women who appear to be 20’s-40’s, African, with dark complexions. Looking for people with a thinner build. Men no larger than 42 coat. Women no larger than dress size 8. NEW FACES ONLY!! This works Wednesday 6/7 in Fairburn, GA. You must have full day availability. A fitting may be required at a TBD date.
While we can’t be sure these stand-ins and extras will necessarily be playing Wakandans, it seems likely. Given the fact that some of the extras will be playing African-American lab technicians, it certainly seems like a scene set in Wakanda, considering how technologically advanced that country is. Again, at this point, it’s still all speculation, but the evidence for this one is strong.
If you’re in the Atlanta area, I would recommend checking out the two source listings at the bottom of this article and applying if you quality! Then let us know in the comments or on social media if you land a part as an extra! We’d love to hear from you.
Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 4, 2018.
