It’s a bittersweet day today. Chris Evans has officially wrapped filming for Avengers 4. The film marks the end of his nearly decade-long contract, making his last day of filming possibly the last time he ever plays Steve Rogers, a role made so iconic by his incredible performances. Evans took to Twitter to express his gratitude to all his supporters.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

We’ve known for some time that Avengers 4 will mark the end for some of over beloved characters and actors. The future of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans beyond Avengers 4 has been uncertain for the longest time now with fans speculating that either Captain America or Iron Man would bite the dust at the end of the film. We probably won’t know until next year but seeing Evans say this goodbye, temporary or not, tugs us in the heartstrings. Thank you, Cap.
