The next time we know we are going to see Captain America (Chris Evans) is in Infinity Wars: Part 1. However, there is no reason to think that he won’t show up in any other Marvel property long before that Avengers movie in 2018. With plenty of over installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming out between now and the start of Infinity Wars, it makes sense that we might see some of The Avengers pop up in other films. As it stands, Thor: Ragnorak will have Mark Ruffalo returning as The Hulk, and Iron Man (Robert Downey Junior) has been confirmed to appear Spider-Man: Homecoming. So what about Captain America? Is it possible we’ll see him pop up somewhere else?
MTV had a chance to chat with Evans recently and asked him if he thought Captain America should pop up in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, which is almost finished filming. To little surprise, it turns out that Evans doesn’t really think that Steve Rogers would fit in well in space.
Guardians would be fun, wouldn’t it?“ he revealed to MTV when questioned on where he’d like to see Cap on screen in the future, “but it’s very outer spacey. Cap’s more of an Earth-bound guy.”
If not for Guardians, where else can Cap show up? The most obvious choice out of the current Phase Three slate leading up to Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 would be Spider-Man: Homecoming – a film Kevin Feige has already said will include a few MCU characters. So what does Evans think about this possibility? It’s something he’d totally be on board for if asked.
Maybe the next Spider-Mans. Those are going to be fantastic, and I think Tom [Holland]’s just a great actor, so that might be a fun one to pop up into.
With Iron Man already planned to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, we know that the movie will have solid crossovers with the MCU Movies. Perhaps the kid from Brooklyn will make it up to Queens to apologize for everything that happened in Captain America: Civil War? We’ll have to wait and see.
Where would you like to see Captain America pop up next? Let us know in the comments.
