2020 started strong in MCU news when it was revealed that Christian Bale was in talks to join the fourth Thor film Thor: Love and Thunder. Since then, we haven’t heard much from any of the official channels. That is until this week when Tessa Thompson was asked about it.
Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic. I’ve read the script. I can’t tell you much. Lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie and I. We’re going to have fun. Taika is writing [and] directing. Some familiar faces. Some new people coming into the mix.
So this is pretty cool news for a bunch of reasons. One, who wouldn’t want Christian Bale in the MCU? The dude has led a bright and distinguished career beyond the cowl of Batman and he’s an amazing actor to begin with. Two, who wouldn’t want Christian Bale to revisit his American Psycho roots of villainy? I’m still convinced that Bale is playing Dario Agger, deranged CEO-with-minotaur-powers of the corrupt company Roxxon, whose company logo was spotted in this week’s Loki set photos. But whoever he ends up playing, he’ll surely kill it.
