MCU Twitter was set ablaze when it was announced by Marvel that Clark Gregg would be reprising his role as the Son of Coul in next year’s Captain Marvel, dwarfing the announcement’s larger additions of Lee Pace and Djimon Honsou. And those fans who are more excited to see Gregg on film again more than anything else should be happy to know that the actor has begun filming.

Following this exciting announcement, a portion of the fandom has begun to clamor for the inclusion of fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Ming-Na Wen aka Melinda May in the film. Canonically, May has been a part of S.H.I.E.L.D. around the same time as Coulson so her inclusion makes sense at the least. We don’t know if it’ll ever happen but if it does, it’ll be one giant leap for the TV-Film rift. After all, Melinda May is an ‘old friend’ of Coulson’s just like Fury.
