There’s been talk about Bullseye as the Daredevil Season 3 big bad these past few months. We first heard about Bullseye as a villain through a leak that surfaced on Reddit, followed by a report from our good friends at That Hashtag Show that Wilson Bethel was playing him and leaked production logos for the season. It was all but confirmed until now. In Entertainment Weekly’s coverage of Daredevil Season 3, descriptions for the new characters were shared.
Sister Maggie (Joanne Whalley) joins as “a tough, Hell’s Kitchen-born-and-bred nun,” FBI Agent Ray (Jay Ali) “carries the heart of the season,” and “a psychologically tortured FBI sharpshooter” played by Wilson Bethel “could teeter towards good or towards evil, depending on who is manipulating or inspiring him.”
The description about Bullseye is incredibly exciting to read. Bullseye has never been depicted as a nuanced character in the comics. We’ve seen pieces of his mysterious past here and there but not enough to give his character real depth. Their approach to giving a traditionally psychopathic irredeemable killer a malleable sense of morality is intriguing to me. With the right performance from Bethel, this Bullseye could be one of the best MCU’s villains yet.
