What a way to start the week! Marvel has just released the official press release for next year’s Captain Marvel, finally acknowledging the film beginning production and confirming the return of familiar faces in the MCU. Lee Pace, Djimon Honsou, and Clark Motherfucking Gregg are all slated to return!
This is huge news despite the fact that fans have been anticipating this sort of return for these characters. With the film being set 20 years in the past, it makes that these faces are returning. I for one am incredibly excited to see Clark Gregg once more in the films. It’s so exciting to just think of the Son of Coul’s return, even if it’s set in the past. Lee Pace returning means they’ve got another shot at retroactively making Ronan a better and more compelling villain this time around.
The press release also confirms the addition of McKenna Grace, the child actress who starred with Chris Evans in Gifted and who recently appeared in the award-winning flick I, Tonya and Lashana Lynch, who was recently cast as DeWanda Wise‘s replacement.
