In an unprecedented move for Marvel Studios, it looks like Kevin Feige is finally throwing a nod towards Jeph Loeb’s kingdom of Marvel TV, not through a mere easter egg but actually picking a character to appear in the films. According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Daredevil star Charlie Cox will reprise his role as the Man Without Fear in Sony’s third Spider-man film. No word was given on whether the rest of the Daredevil cast will appear in the film or if a new show is also slated.
This is absolutely huge news for a slew of reasons. As I mentioned above, this has never been done on this scale before. That Jarvis appearance in Avengers: Endgame was pretty much a glorified cameo and nothing more. As if the return of Jamie Foxx as Electro wasn’t enough, this obviously sets a precedent for the entire Marvel TV roster. Anyone from that world is now primed for Kevin Feige to pick, should he deem them worth bringing over to the MCU. Of course, there are still a lot of questions with a thing such as this. What happens to the rest of the cast? Are they bringing the character along with his/her/their Marvel TV-written backstories? I still personally prefer the soft reboot route but overall, the idea is just immensely exciting and I cannot wait for this to finally happen.
