Recently That Hashtag Show has been getting great information on the Netflix roles coming to Jessica Jones and Luke Cage‘s second seasons. Those character breakdowns have proven to be accurate, with most of those roles officially cast months later. Now there is a new character breakdown, but this time it is for Daredevil Season 3.
[STEVE] 28-35, 5’9-6’1, Open ethnicity. An athletic but socially awkward FBI Agent, needs structure and rules to suppress the darkness inside himself. Athletic with medium build, responsible and resourceful, hair trigger temper. SERIES REGULAR
The role fits well with Stanley Carter or Sin-Eater. Netflix typically gives the characters a new first name beginning with the same first letter as the character in the show’s name in order to make it less obvious to others what role they are casting. In this case, the character is a near perfect match with the comic character, an ex-cop and special agent who goes about murdering those he believes have committed sins against him after undergoing brain damaging experiments (IGH, anyone?) Whether or not the character belongs to Marvel or Sony is something that That Hashtag Show goes into.
Remember, as always with these character breakdowns, that the firmer news is the character being cast. So Netflix is almost certainly looking for “Steve” and that character will meet the description. Attributing that character to Sin-Eater is more detective work, but thus far the folks breaking these stories in recent months have been pretty on the nose with their predictions. The idea that a character dabbling in the religious idea of sin would be a good fit for Netflix’s portrayal of a religious Daredevil makes a lot of sense. Throw in Father Lanthom and the tone could get very heavy. It also would meld well with Born Again elements if the show does go in that direction.
What do you think? Do you want to see Sin-Eater make it into the Netflix world? Is this a good addition for Daredevil Season 3? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
