Vincent D’Onofrio‘s return to the forefront of the Daredevil saga will inevitably be one of the third season’s highlights. After stealing the entire 2nd act of Daredevil Season 2 with a brief electrifying prison showdown with Matt Murdock, fans like me have pined for a stronger emphasis on the Fisk v. Daredevil dynamic for stories down the line. It appears those wishes have been confirmed as Vincent D’Onofrio spoke to Collider about the upcoming season, affirming that fans will undoubtedly be happy with what they’ve shot so far.

We’ve already shot some things that are just going to be neat for the fans. There’s some awesome things that are very much in the history of Fisk and Daredevil, that people have been waiting for. We’ve already put some of that stuff in the can, and there’s a lot more to do. I think they’re gonna be very happy.

D’Onofrio was also asked about the mindset of Wilson Fisk going into this new season, given that the character will have now spent a good chunk of his life in prison.

There are new focuses and new goals. That’s all I can say.

Fisk’s brief arc in Daredevil Season 2 ended with him taking control of the prison and reanalyzing his prison skirmish with Matt Murdock. The Kingpin is starting to put things together about the Man Without Fear and may come to a conclusion about the blind lawyer’s true identity real soon, planting one goal in his mind. Things aren’t going to end well for Matt Murdock, that’s for sure.
