I don’t know about y’all but I’m still reeling in from that incredible trailer for The Defenders last night (check my breakdown here). I think it’s because of the fact that I watched the video 4 million times. All jokes aside, the trailer for The Defenders did fantastic last night, amassing more than 4 million views after 24 hours and 2 million in less than 10 hours. That’s some crazy numbers right there considering it’s for a TV show.
And if the trailer still isn’t enough for suckers like you and me, some official images from the show were just released via comicbook.com. The images range from “that’s cool” to “I wonder what that means?”, featuring various iterations of the team hanging out, looking all serious, and ready to kick ass. There’s also a super interesting image of Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra there. Check out the gallery below!
Re: that Alexandra photo, I find it interesting that it’s on the same rooftop where Wilson Fisk and Madame Gao conversed back in Daredevil Season 1. The rooftop has been used in countless films and is practically a NY landmark at this point but I wonder if that location has any significance within the story. Its location is in one of the buildings in Rockefeller Plaza, structures owned by the rich and powerful. And you know who is rich and powerful and happens to be the villain of The Defenders? Alexandra. So yeah, I’ll go out on a limb here and guess that that building/rooftop within the story is actually owned by Alexandra’s family and the Hand and it’s why Gao brought Fisk there to talk.
What do you think of The Defenders trailer hitting 4 million views and these images? Think I might be on to something with my incredible crackpot theory? Let us know in the comments below! Marvel’s The Defenders hits Netflix on August 18 later this year and you can watch Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones right there.
