Fans have been anxiously waiting for the completion of the Disney-Fox deal ever since it was announced to be pushing through last December. When it was announced, a small portion of the fandom believed the effects would take place immediately; they were ready to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four appear in Avengers: Infinity War. But given the massive complications surrounding the deal, this clearly wasn’t the case (an estimated 12-to-18-month waiting period was brought up). Now, we have a clear finalization date for the deal: summer 2019, a little over a year from now.

What does this mean for future Fox-MCU prospects? If you ask me, it’s been in the same predicament since the deal was announced. We won’t see any of them X-Men and Fantastic Four cross paths with Captain America until 2020 and this report confirms it. It’s a long wait for the deal to close and a longer one to see a Fox-MCU film come to fruition. But hey, at least it’s going to happen!
