The last few weeks have been quite revealing for the post-Phase 3 films. James Gunn‘s future with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been revealed and sadly not what we were hoping for. Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently filming with some behind-the-scenes videos leaking online. So far, only three other films have been hinted at that will become part of whatever Kevin Feige has planned for the MCU, which are Black WidowThe Eternals and Doctor Strange 2.We do know that it is highly likely we will get a Black Panther sequel but there is still little information on that franchise’s future.

Omega Underground got a scoop that Marvel Studios is currently aiming to film a new project in June 2019 in the UK and it was unsure which project would start its production by then. The European shooting location would make sense for the Black Widow film, as they could explore her past missions as KGB agent but Doctor Strange also makes sense to accommodate the lead actor.

We might have gotten some more news that might solidify which film is going to start its production next year. Benedict Cumberbatch‘s salary to star in the still officially unannounced Doctor Strange 2 will be  £ 7.5 million, which is an increase of £ 5 million in comparison to the first film. The most interesting aspect is that the news also points to the film starting production around spring next year, which will involve a six-month production. It could still match with the rumored June 2019 start. Spring ends around May 31st so there is a chance that this is the rumored film to start its production next year. Hopefully, we will also get an official announcement from Marvel Studios on what to expect beyond Avengers 4 but we might not hear anything until next year.

What are your thoughts on the matter? What do you want to see happen in Doctor Strange 2?
