2016 has been quite a year for Marvel. Within the year, Marvel Studios has released two feature films (Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange), along with two more seasons of Netflix shows (Daredevil and Luke Cage). All along the way, they have also teased at a lot of exciting things to come. We’ve gotten teasers and full-length trailers for both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming. 2017 is shaping up to be a big one for the MCU; there’s a lot of new releases to look forward to, and we won’t have too long to wait in between some. One of those is the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray.

Thanks to the Marvel UK & Ireland Twitter page, we now have confirmation that Doctor Strange will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK on March 6, 2017, just outside of a week before the first season of Iron Fist drops on Netflix. That should give fans in the UK just enough time to rewatch the Sorcerer Supreme take on Kaecilius and the Dark Dimension a few times before we binge Iron Fist. What exactly does that mean for those of us in the United States? We’re not entirely sure yet. Marvel has yet to announce an official release date for the US, but if previous releases are anything to go by, Doctor Strange should be released a few weeks after. It’s a safe bet that we should see it hit shelves stateside in late March.

Seeing as the home release date for Strange is so early in the year, it begs the question as to when we can expect the good doctor to make his way on Netflix. Given the track record of other Disney properties including Zootopia, The Jungle Book, and Captain America: Civil War, there is about a three-month gap between Blu-Ray release and Netflix streaming dates. We speculate that if Doctor Strange will be released for streaming, we should see that happen by mid to late June.
