To kick off the new year, Disney’s official fan club released an article on upcoming releases by the Disney company in 2017. Among them are some of 2017’s most anticipated films, including Pixar’s Cars 3 and Coco, Lucasfilms’ Star Wars – Episode VIII, and Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok.
In their statement regarding Thor: Ragnarok, they mention Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), joining Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) on their journey. This lead fans to believe this to be confirmation of the sorcerer’s appearance in the upcoming film. Check out the statement below:
We’ve all been obsessed with Baby Groot since he danced his way into our hearts in 2014, and now we can finally watch our favorite tiny, talking plant save the galaxy with his gang of unlikely heroes when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 zooms into theaters in May. If you need even more intergalactic, world-saving action, Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new. Of course, we can’t talk about fighting off bad guys in space without mentioning a certain movie about the war in the stars… We may have wait until December, but Star Wars: Episode VIII will finally reveal what happens next to our favorite characters from The Force Awakens.
While this may not be much of a surprise to those who saw the post-credits scene in Doctor Strange, it’s still nice to get an official confirmation.
Thor: Ragnarok releases on October 25, 2017, and is directed by Taika Waititi.
