Marvel’s 2016 offering Doctor Strange dazzled fans with its game-changing visual effects sequences. The film’s visual effects have garnered recognition from the Hollywood Film Awards, the Critics’ Choice Awards, the Visual Effects Society Awards and more. This morning, the Academy Awards announced that Stephane Ceretti has been honored with another Visual Effects Oscar nomination for his work on the film, following a previous nomination for his work on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

To congratulate him on his nomination, Ant-Man director Peyton Reed tweeted to Ceretti, mentioning his excitement to work together on 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Ceretti’s involvement is hardly surprising– Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the fifth MCU film he has worked on, after Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World, and the previously mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange. Still, his past work with Marvel ensures that the visual effects of Ant-Man and the Wasp are in good hands. Peyton Reed has promised that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be “a much weirder movie” than its predecessor, and if Ceretti’s work on Doctor Strange is any indication, that certainly seems to be the case here.

Ant-Man and the Wasp releases on July 6, 2018.
