While ABC announced an early season four renewal for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. earlier this month, the network has yet to announce the fate of Agent Carter, the mid-season series that filled in for S.H.I.E.L.D. while on winter hiatus. There has been a rumor that the series is definitely getting a third season, however, ratings for the show seemed more than likely to lean towards a cancellation of the series. With ABC currently readying more pilots, it’s more than likely we’ll begin to hear more regarding the fate of Agent Carter soon, especially if they end up ordering Conviction to series. (Note: I’n aware that the network said Hayley Atwell can do both shows. I’m talking about the trades revealing the show’s fate in the series pick-up confirmation for Conviction, should that happen.) With the network continually remaining tight-lipped on the show’s future, during a round-table interview for his upcoming series, Preacher, Howard Stark himself, Dominic Cooper, was asked if he’d heard anything regarding a possible season three, and according to the actor, he hasn’t heard a thing as of yet.

“I hear nothing,” he answered. “I hear nothing. I’m waiting but I’ve
not heard anything yet.”

Of course, this led to someone asking whether or not he’d be able to juggle both Preacher and Agent Carter, should the latter land a third season order – and, of course, should Preacher be picked up for additional orders. While it’s not a guarantee just yet, as it’d depend on the actual filming schedules, Cooper seems to believe it’d be more than likely. After all, Stark has only been popping up for a handful of episodes on Agent Carter, so it shouldn’t overlap too much with any Preacher filming.

“I hope so…yeah, ‘cause Howard Stark kind of runs in and runs out. He
does some ridiculous thing, creates some madness and then hops off in
a plane with a leggy blonde.”

For now, you can purchase the first season of Agent Carter season one on DVD & Blu-Ray exclusively through Amazon, while you can purchase the second season digitally through places such as iTunes and Amazon. As of right now, there is no news regarding a season two DVD & Blu-Ray release.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out my feature on why Agent Carter deserves a third season, and why Netflix would be the right home for it.
