We’re a little over a year away from the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but with filming underway, it was only a matter of time until we got a first look at the film’s biggest addition, Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp.
The Wasp’s costume was originally teased in an end credits sequence for Ant-Man and this first look at the costume in action certainly bears a strong resemblance. There have been some changes, such as the inclusion of sleeves and less gold accents, but the overall look is still very much in line with the character and lines up well with some of the concept art seen around D23. Hopefully, some on-set pictures or further image releases from Marvel will show off the suit with its helmet as well.
As for the scene shown here, we don’t see much aside from The Wasp. It appears that Lilly’s character is in a classroom, but there’s really nothing teasing where in the film this takes place.
Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne is set to take up the role of the Wasp in the coming sequel which focuses on the team’s past, including the debut of Michelle Pfeffer as Hope’s mother, Janet Van Dyne. Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas will be returning in their respective roles as Scott Lang and Hank Pym alongside new characters including Laurence Fishburne’s Dr. Bill Foster.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to debut in theaters on July 6th, 2018.
