If you’ve been following this site closely since its inception in 2015, you’ll notice often we’ve talked about the Thunderbolts joining the MCU. Well, after 10 years into this cinematic universe, it looks like we’ll be getting them this year in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, according to scooper Daniel RPK’s Patreon.
When you think about it, this shouldn’t come as a massive surprise. With Zemo’s return on the horizon, it was only a matter of time until he began plotting his comeback. The MCU has left some villains alive for Zemo’s Thunderbolt tryouts. Heck, it also kinda looks like Thunderbolt Ross is going to be a main player in Black Widow, a film that is said to set up a lot of big narrative stuff for Phase 4, so if they ever decide to incorporate the Secretary of State in the development of the team, he definitely has the namesake for it.
Our good friend, Charles Murphy, put up one of his educated informed speculative pieces last night guessing that Miki Ishikawa, one of the recent casting additions to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, could be playing one of the OG members of the team, Jolt.
