The Marvel/Netflix universe has a knack for giving fans the bluest of balls when it comes to costume reveals. Daredevil did it twice for both of their seasons – for Matt and the Punisher – and Jessica Jones did when they actually turned David Tennant purple at the season finale. Because of this tradition, fans expected the same thing for Danny Rand in Iron Fist. Throughout the press tour for Season 1, one of the biggest questions fans wanted to know was if Danny would suit up in the season and lo and behold, we didn’t get anything sans that dope 1940’s clip of the TRUE Iron Fist. And because The Defenders is coming up in a few months, fans are wondering the same: will we see Danny Rand suit up along with Daredevil? Judging from Finn’s recent comments from Houston’s Comicpalooza, it’s likely that we still won’t see a suit in The Defenders because it still is a part of Finn’s wishlist for a potential Iron Fist Season 2.

I think moving forward to Season 2, we’ll see something like that [the classic costume]. Personally I hope we get the wispy kind of ripples at the back of the mask. That’s a super cool effect. I think it would actually be annoying, the logistics of it but I think it would look really cool.

Knowing that Danny has yet to suit up by The Defenders also means that Daredevil will be the only Defender in-costume, making him stick out like a sore thumb on an aesthetic level. In one of the recent motion posters that was released, we see Finn Jones standing in front of Harlem’s Paradise. Next to him is what seems to be a newspaper vending machine dispensing the New York Bulletin issue of him getting framed, hinting that his public identity may come into play in the story. If this end up being the case, there’s certainly room for a costume in the future of Iron Fist.

Along with his interest in in seeing a costume for a potential Iron Fist Season 2, Finn also brought the idea of having more of K’un L’un.

I’d love to see more K’un L’un for sure.

The events that transpired in K’un L’un with Danny Rand and his upbringing with monks are what was sorely missing from the first season of Iron Fist. Them including aspects of K’un L’un would have given the show a good sense of a larger world at play and a refreshing change from the blandly grounded corporate tone of the show. Should they get to show more K’un L’un in Iron Fist Season 2, I’m hoping they explore more of the mystical aspects of the kingdom. If we have Ghost Rider traversing the various demonic dimensions in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., they should be able to pull off the mystical elements of K’un L’un.

As for when the second season of Iron Fist will be announced? Finn doesn’t know yet but he’s keeping his fingers crossed. We are too because there’s so much potential to be mined the character.

Netflix hasn’t ordered a Season 2 yet so hopefully that announcement will be made soon, I hope. Fingers crossed!
