We’re less than a week away from the return of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s third season, and from the looks of it, it’s returning with quite a bang. Just last night, after the season two finale of Agent Carter, ABC released an extended promo for the upcoming second half of season three, which included a better look at Slingshot (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) in action, as well a tease at the formation of the Secret Warriors. Now today, they’ve released the first clip from the mid-season premiere titled “Bouncing Back”, and it features a nice little surprise at the end of the clip.
If you’ll recall, the Theta Brain-Wave Frequency Machine, a.k.a the memory machine, was first introduced back in season one during the episode “The Magical Place”. It was then that Coulson recalled what Project T.A.H.I.T.I. was and had done to him. The machine was last used in the season two episode titled “The Writing on the Wall”, when Coulson went back into the machine to try and locate the test subjects from Project T.A.H.I.T.I. Now, this time around, it isn’t Coulson that’ll be undergoing the machine. So, who is he planning on putting under? The agent formerly known as Ward – trying to be careful here for those that are avoiding spoilers regarding his new identity – seems like a likely option. What do you think? Sound off in the comments below!
