Spoiler Warning: If you’re not caught up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. yet, I would highly suggest you do not watch the above clip, o read the below post as there will be spoilers.
If there’s one thing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has proven to do well over the years, it’s the ability to throw in an impressive twist near the end of the season. The best example of this was when Brett Dalton‘s Grant Ward was revealed to be a double agent in episode 1x17. Which is what makes this past Tuesday’s episode all that more intriguing. As you’re all aware – or you should be if you’re still reading this – Ward was killed at the hand of Coulson (Clark Gregg) on Maveth, leaving his corpse as the perfect vessel to the ancient Inhuman, Hive, to take possession of before finding its way back to Hydra on Earth. Since then, we hadn’t been too clear on what the Inhuman’s goals were, but episode 3x17, “The Team“, gave us a better idea when Hive used his powers to “infect” Daisy (Chloe Bennet). Of course, at the time, the team believed it’d been Lincoln that’d been infected by Hive, leaving the team shocked when it ended up being Daisy who, on her way to find Hive, used her powers to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.
In episode 3×18, titled “The Singularity“, we see the team heading out to look for her, knowing full well that her actions were a result of Hive’s control. What’ll happen when they find her? It’s hard to tell, but with the synopsis for the season finale teasing someone’s death, it’s safe to assume the remainder of the season will be full of surprising twists.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday’s on ABC.
