Looks like someone’s making it out of their own movie. In a new report from MCU Direct, it looks like Florence Pugh will be reprising her role as Yelena Belove in the Hawkeye series following the character’s debut in next year’s Black Widow. Belova will reportedly don a suit similar to the Ronin costume Clint Barton donned in Avengers: Endgame. No other details on Pugh’s involvement were given.
This is exciting. The mere thought of Yelena making out of Black Widow alive after everyone pretty much assumed that she bites the dust at the end of that film is very much welcome. I wonder if Yelena’s involvement in the film is the MCU substitute for the cast of female characters that appeared in the Matt Fraction series. Heck, I wonder if she ends up being a villain for someone like Madame Masque in the show. Whatever the case is, it is undoubtedly great to hear that Pugh has a larger role in the MCU.
