The casting news just keeps on coming! According to a report from Variety.com, Marvel Studios is in talks with Captain Marvel star Gemma Chan to join the already loaded cast of The Eternals, scheduled for a November 6, 2020 release date.

This is an interesting turn of events, as Variety is reporting that Chan will not be playing Minn-erva as she did in Captain Marvel. We’ve have seen actors double up on roles in past movies such as (Kenneth Choi as Jim Morita in Captain America: The First Avenger and Principal Morita in Spider-Man: Homecoming), with the recent one being Mahershala Ali who appeared in Luke Cage as Cottonmouth and who’ll be suiting up as Blade in Phase 5 of the MCU.

Of course, Variety could have been misled with this. The trades did assume that Angelina Jolie was playing Sersi in the film but it was announced in SDCC that she was Thena. Then again, it is hard to imagine how a minor character like Minn-erva would fit into a prehistoric ancient story like the Eternals.
