Marvel’s Netflix shows may be dead in the water but Marvel TV back is returning with a vengeance courtesy of Hulu. The streaming service just ordered two full live-action series starring Daimon Hellstrom and fan-favorite Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider. It also been confirmed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Gabriel Luna will return as the titular Spirit of Vengeance. However, some insiders are saying that this Ghost Rider will be in no way connected to the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” storyline. Whatever that pertains to in the big picture doesn’t make much sense but it’s exciting news to have Luna back regardless.
It’s an honor to ride again with @Marvel and our new partner @Hulu! ??? #GhostRider https://t.co/WePYwIfAHB

For the uninitiated, Daimon Hellstrom was initially written and created as the son of Satan, later retconned to be a different demonic entity. Like Ghost Rider, Hellstrom’s stories are heavily centered on mysticism and magic. The official press release describes Helstrom as a show revolving “around Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills.”
Both shows will be produced by Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb. Justified producer Ingrid Escajeda will produce Ghost Rider and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Paul Zbyszewski will produce Helstrom. This will be another major venture by Marvel and Hulu as several animated shows surrounding characters like M.O.D.O.K. and Hit-Monkey have all recently been announced on top of the streaming service’s Marvel hit Runaways. All in all, it’s incredibly exciting news and I hope they manage to pull off the spectacle required for such iconic characters.
