In the first Guardians Of The Galaxy, two details that stood out to many fans was the use of 80’s music (from Earth) and the character of Groot. The soundtrack was as much a part of the story as any of the action, reminding us of how long ago Star-Lord left Earth. Where as Groot was low on words, but the few repeated lines he offered were voiced by Vin Diesel, who matched the strong looming frame of the character.
At San Diego Comic-Con, two clips from Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2 were shared with the audience in Hall H. Neither of these clips have been shared publicly, but according to Director James Gunn, they include Jay And The Americans “Come a Little Bit Closer” and Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain.” Gunn said that there’s a “pretty good chance they will be in the movie.”
Another fun detail from the clips was that fan favorite, Groot, was in his “Baby Groot” form. Gunn shared that they are still working on the voice for the small version of the character. They have not decided, or are not willing to share, if Vin Diesel will be returning for the voice of the character.
