We caught our first look at Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 last month and now, just under 6 months from the film’s release, we know that the usual Marvel reshoots are under way.
According to Nebula actress Karen Gillian, reshoots are underway with at least a portion of the cast back on set. It’s unclear how much of the film will be reshot, but based on Karen’s tweet, the reshoots look to be easy since “the movie is already insanely good.” (It is worth restating that reshoots are normal and nothing to freak out about; Marvel preschedules these just in case.)
Guardians of the Galaxy reshoots today! So excited to be back with the gang! #easiestreshootsever #causethemovieisalreadyinsanelygood

In related news, after hearing about Marvel’s deal with Fox this morning, director James Gunn has commented on the matter. If you’ll recall, a co-operation between Marvel and Fox allowed Fox to change Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s powers from the comic counterpart. In exchange, Marvel was able to use Ego the Living Planet. As James Gunn revealed on Twitter, there was no backup for Ego as Starlord’s father in the film.
Haha yes that’s true. I don’t think Fox knew what a big piece of the cosmic universe puzzle he was going to be (and I had no backup ?). https://t.co/Z19dDwvKgV
