Ever since the James Gunn debacle, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been shelved indefinitely by Disney. With no director announced to take over the reigns and cast members publicly speaking out on the tragedy of Gunn’s firing, there’s so much question surrounding the fate of Vol. 3. However, a new report from Production Weekly via Pursue News is saying that production for the film would resume a whopping 3 years from now and that HOT CHRISTMAS would be the film’s working title.

This all comes as a surprise to us given that Marvel Studios has proven to be quick rectifying director issues in the past. We’ve heard reports that they were still eyeing James Gunn‘s script which he finalized before getting canned so there is already an existing blueprint for the film. Of course, there’s also the possibility of them totally scrapping the script hence the extended delay. If this ends up being true, at the earliest we can maybe see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hit our screens on 2022.
