The fates of the original six Avengers in and beyond Avengers: Endgame may be unknown but some veteran cast members are already prepared to say goodbye to their roles. Speaking to Variety, Iron Man star Gwyneth Paltrow revealed her plans to depart the Marvel Cinematic Universe and say goodbye to Pepper Potts once the 10-year saga wraps up this April. She said:
I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point. I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friend with [‘Iron Man’ director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to fans.
That being said, Paltrow says she isn’t against the idea of Pepper appearing in a quick one-day cameo.
I feel honored to be a part of something that people are so passionate about. Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?,’ I will always be there if they need me.
Avengers: Endgame will truly be a bittersweet end for fans who were there when the first Iron Man came out.
