Since last year, it has been heavily rumored that Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel would make an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. (Devin at BAD has talked about the possibility of Carol being introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron for a while now.)
Before Marvel announced the Phase Three line-up, the rumors seemed to come to a halt as it was being reported that Marvel was getting cold feet about introducing her in the Avengers sequel. Of course, after her own solo movie was announced for November 2018, those rumors started to gain traction again.
And today, it’s looking like those rumors are gaining even more traction, as El Mayimbe from Latino Review is reporting that he’s hearing rumors that Marvel has already cast the role and that we will see Carol in Avengers: Age of Ultron as previously rumored. The casting of the role is being kept secret, although I wouldn’t be surprised if someone ends up picking up on it before Avengers: Age of Ultron is released on May 1st.
He has also revealed some new rumors that we haven’t heard up to this point. He states that he has heard that Kelly Sue DeConnick, who currently writes the Captain Marvel comic book for Marvel, wanted to try her hand at the screenplay, although he isn’t sure if she got the job or not. He’s also reporting that he’s heard that Jim Starlin is on board the film as a consultant.
Now, it is worth pointing out that El Mayimbe has stated these are all unconfirmed rumors still, but he’s one of the best when it comes to getting Marvel scoops, so I wouldn’t completely write off these rumors just yet.
Are you excited to see a possible Carol Danvers cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
