Seems our draught in news might have finally come to an end. Cinemas are still closed, so a lot of hope is to see some kind of MCU update for the Disney+ shows. We are still waiting for official release dates for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as well as WandaVision. The former was even originally slated to release next month, which is sadly still quite unlikely as of now. Still, while filming cannot really start for some time that doesn’t mean some of the shows are still in some form of pre-production stage. Looks like some work is underway for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Hawkeye show, as it taps various directors for the project.
This is the first of the shows to confirm multiple directors. Unlike The Mandalorian, which had a multitude of directors, the MCU shows are focusing on a singular vision for each episode. This shakes things up. Troop Zero’s duo Amber Finlayson and Katie Ellwood, also known as Bert and Bertie, have been hired to film a block of the episodes, while Rhys Thomas of Staten Island Summer fame will take over a second. This might be intentional to offer two distinct experiences. We could see one from the perspective of Clint Barton and another from his protége Kate Bishop, who still hasn’t been cast officially. The show is still being written by Mad Men alum Jonathan Igla, so there are no changes there and it is uncertain if the directors are also involved with the writing of the show.
