Yet another rumored mini-series is in development according to MCU Cosmic. Not too long ago, we got some rumors that they were preparing a series focused on everyone’s (first) favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury. Peter Sciretta pointed out that they are planning something much larger, but there is always the chance that they are simply throwing a few ideas as they prepare to expand into original productions for streaming services. It seems we might be a step closer to another recurring hero to finally get his own standalone project. 2020 will see Black Widow get her own film and fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Hawkeye will join her at some point.
Unlike the Nick Fury rumor, we have quite a few more info so the Hawkeye project. It seems it will focus on Jeremy Renner‘s Clint Barton training a successor. It also seems likely that it will be a well-known character from comics so the obvious choice would be to see Kate Bishop appear in the MCU. Katherine Langford was recently revealed to have a role in Avengers 4 and many believe that she could be taking over the role of Bishop. There are many hints that a new generation of Avengers will take over after the upcoming film’s events so it would be an interesting choice. Matt Fraction‘s run with the character would be a perfect template to use for a show so hopefully these rumors turn out to be true. Renner is quite proud of playing the role so he deserves his own project after being on the sidelines for most of the MCU. It will be interesting to see how they integrate his family and maybe even Lucky into the series.
What do you think? Would you watch a Hawkeye series or movie)
