We are still in the middle of Phase 3 of Marvel Studios, but we cannot help but still be excited about the future of this franchise. Just last month, James Gunn did reveal that there are discussions about a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off on the Ravagers. We do know that the director is going to be the Kevin Feige of the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is already hard at work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and it seems the film will have a much more significant role for the future of the MCU. One of our own had the opportunity to attend a panel with the director at the Hasbro HasCon, as Caleb not only found out that Vance Astro will not be part of Vol. 3 but also that the film will be a jumping off point for many other stories.

We knew that Gunn was heavily involved with expanding the cosmic universe, but it is interesting that they will use Vol. 3 as a jumping off point. The ending of Vol. 2 teased an essential character of Marvel’s long history to make an appearance at some point with Adam Warlock. The previously mentioned potential film on the Ravagers could explore the dynamic of the original Guardians from the comics. Infinity War will also merge the two sides of the MCU and could also have a strong influence on the future of the franchise. This also opens up the question how the film might influence the cosmic adventures of Captain Marvel.

There is also the possibility that we will finally see Nova make an appearance or get his own film, which Gunn has actually teased during a Facebook Q&A. Spin-offs could also revolve around the individual members of the Guardians. Seeing a story about Rocket going on a space adventure to Half-World, or just a story about Drax trying to find a purpose in life after whatever may happen in Infinity War. A personal wish would be a film to explore a time when Yondu had to take care of a young Quill.

What would you want to see happen? Any characters you want to see get their own film?
